About MWRA

Mountain West Recreation Alliance is a 501c3, non-profit organization, focusing on responsible recreation through education, service and advocacy. How do we do this?

Education

Socials - Check out our Facebook page, and sign up for our monthly newsletter, we have information for you! Every share, every comment MATTERS. We want our voice to be heard and need you to achieve that.

Videos - Check out this page to watch videos about land use information to keep you educated and informed. MWRA's VP Kristina Schmid has created amazing videos such as, What You Can Do TODAY, Writing A Public Comment That Counts, and Travel Management Plan Process.

Service

Clean-ups -

This is our most popular service project and for a good reason! Clean-ups are so important to keep pollution limited and improve our public land through volunteer camaraderie and keeping our lands clean.

Bridge Builds

2024 was a big year for us in partnering with BLM to build FIVE bridges. We are excited to continue this momentum.

Opening New Trails -

Don't you love finding a new trail and spot to relax in nature? Through our help in opening new trails, we provide routes and opportunities for members of the public to access BLM land.

Get to Know Us

Alexandria started MWRA for the kids. As a mother, she realized the importance of cultivating the love of the outdoors in children. She tries to get out in nature and camp with her family each weekend! MWRA has switched its focus from enjoyment of the outdoors to truly protecting and advocating for the great outdoors.

Who We Are

We are a group of people wishing to make a difference in the world of outdoor recreation. All of us have many different experiences with outdoor recreation and have different perspectives on the challenges of outdoor recreation today. We strive to create an open-minded environment that encourages awareness, discussion, and action, to protect our recreational lands.

Meet Our Board

Even though we all have different titles, we are always collaborating on everything we do. We take our positions very seriously and work hard to spread our message, educate, and take action.

We all have one (if not multiple) full time jobs as we do not take any compensation for our board positions so that all of our money can go towards spreading our message and making a difference.

We are looking for area/regional ambassadors. If you are interested, please send us an email at admin@mwralliance.org or reach out to us via our contact page
